Rafting along the middle Katun takes place through the most beautiful, uninhabited places in mountainous Altai, surrounded by high mountain peaks. The route goes through many rapids up to the 4th difficulty category. Each participant is provided with all necessary equipment, meals, transfers from/to the airport, and an overnight stay at the hotel
before leaving home.
Our instructors will teach you the technical and theoretical skills of water tourism. You don't have to have alloy experience, we'll teach you everything. In our free time, we'll catch grayling, eat delicious fire food, and share our impressions around the campfire
.- Rafting along the middle Katun takes place through the most beautiful, uninhabited places in mountainous Altai, surrounded by high mountain peaks. The route is of the 3rd difficulty category, however, it contains several thresholds up to the 4th difficulty category.

Program
Day 1. Group meeting, drop off at the rafting start site.
- Group meeting at Gorno-Altaysk airport/bus station.
- We move along the Chuysky and Chemal highways to our base, where we collect things and equipment and provide equipment.
- We travel along the Chuy Highway to the starting point, the confluence of the Yaloman and Katun rivers.
- We unload provisions and set up a tent camp in the picturesque Yaloman River valley.
- We bring the rafts and equipment ready for active rafting, have dinner, and meet each other around the campfire.
Day 2. Rafting on the Katun river. Ilgumen threshold.
- We have breakfast, load things and provisions for rafts, provide detailed instructions and teach you how to act in various situations. We answer all questions and work out raft management techniques .
- After the educational section of the river, we pass the Ilgumen threshold 4k.s., a large-scale threshold with barrels and ramparts up to 4 meters high, where the Russian Rafting Cup is held.
- This is followed by the 3-4 k.s Kadrinskaya Tube, a series of constant obstacles in a 5 km long rock gorge.
- We end the rafting day with the Toadstool threshold of 3 k.s. — a large barrel, funnels and high water turbulence, in a narrow part of the river.
Day 3. Sabbath threshold.
- Today we are passing the most difficult, two-stage Sabbath 4 k.s threshold — with barrels up to 2.5 m and ramparts up to 3.5 m. The water obstacle is passed after a preview, since changes in the water level significantly change its nature.
- Then, after a delicious snack, we cross the Kayancha rapids, lots of freestanding barrels and shivers.
- At the end of the rafting, not far from our camp, we are going to see ancient rock paintings that are several thousand years old.
- In the evening, on request, a sauna on the bank of a taiga stream.
Day 4. Ayulinsky threshold
- Rafting on the Katun River is becoming more relaxed. The only serious obstacle is the Ayulinsky threshold. 3 k.s., famous for its huge funnel.
- Later, we meet the end point of the Chemal Highway, where we also go to the 30-meter-high Beltertuyuk cascading waterfall, and watch ancient rock paintings.
- We are finishing rafting along the Katun River in the village. Kuyus .
- We are moving and checking into rooms at the base in the village of Uznezya. We regain strength in the sauna
Day 5. End of the tour.
- After a rest, full of energy, emotions and impressions, we say goodbye to Altai and get ready for our way home.

What should I take with me?
Apparel
- Warm jacket and hat.
- A warm sweater.
- Swimsuit.
- Gloves.
- Rain coat.
- Sun hat.
- Normal socks 3 pairs, warm 2 pairs.
- Transport and leisure clothes — pants, shorts, t-shirt, lightweight sweatshirt.
- Clothes for hiking and excursions made of quick-drying material. The weather in Altai can change very often
Footwear
- Rafting shoes (sneakers or water boots)
- Replaceable footwear for holidays at the Slantsy camp.

Do I need to pay full amount at once?
The amount of prepayment is determined by the Travel Expert and is indicated on the tour page. For the majority of tours standard prepayment does not exceed 50% of the tour price. If you have any difficulties with payment, please contact the customer service.

The guys from the Altai team are real professionals, and the safety of tourists is a priority for them. The entire route and actions are thought out to the smallest detail. The cuisine is great, everything is very satisfying and tasty. In general, I was impressed with sleeping bags; I've never been this warm before, and I spend the night hiking in tents every summer. The inventory is great! Tables, chairs, kitchen equipment - everything is new. Alexander and Maxim are very friendly and caring guys, for which we are very grateful to them! Yulka and I will definitely come back to you!

Enjoyed the tour a lot! We saw many stunningly beautiful places and heard interesting stories about these places. The trip was comfortable, the overnight stay was in cabins with all amenities. The breakfasts and dinners were delicious.
Great tour! The trip was great: the car was comfortable, everything was provided, including the water in the car, there were many interesting locations, stories about these places, lots of jokes, comfortable places to stay (we even spent the night at the base on the river bank to the sound of the water), it was a lot of fun. I really liked the approach of the guides: they did everything to make us see the beauty of Gorny Altai and wanted to come again to see more. I especially want to mention the delicious food, it was incredibly tasty)
