Holi symbolizes the victory of good over evil and there are several legends that explain the origin of Holi. The most popular legend is The Legend of Holic. The legend takes its name from the evil ruler's sister, Hiranyakashipu. He considered himself a god and demanded worship from absolutely everyone. But his heir, son Prahlad, became a devotee of Vishnu. Then Holika, endowed with the ability to walk through the fire unharmed by hook or by crook, persuaded Prahlad to go up to the fire in the name of his god. Prahlad began singing Vishnu's hymns and remained unharmed. Holika, on the other hand, is dead. This legend has become a symbol of the victory of good over evil. The main thing about the Holi festival is colors. The festival lasts for three days. On the first day, the enemies of the gods, the Holiki, burn a scarecrow, and the second and third days are days of wild fun, and this is where the colors begin. Everyone pours colored water on each other and throws colored powders. Gradually, everything and everyone becomes painted in bright colors, with explosions of colored powder and splashes everywhere. Nowadays, Holi is celebrated in America, Europe and even in Russia!!!
