(3755m). Youll descend to Hemis Shukpachen after a little respite at the pass. The settlement, called after a cedar forest, is one of Ladakhs most beautiful. Several beautiful streams, bordered by shade willows and huge barley fields, add a splash of color to the otherwise barren Rocky Mountains.

This is the final day of your trek. The route begins to rise between two hillocks west of the town until it veers south and reaches the Mebtak La (3750m), which is designated with prayer flags.
