11 counties and communities in 2 countries/9 days/7 cities/4 National parks/2 UNESCO heritage sites

Our group tour consists of 2 parts: such an unexpected Serbia with its capital and national park, and beautiful Montenegro with its mountains, lakes and the Adriatic Riviera.

Varied, welcoming and very fun - you've never heard that about Serbia, right? Best of all, this landlocked country in the heart of the Balkans is still far away from tourist routes. While the daring Serbian spirit is embodied in Belgrade's world-class nightlife, we'll look beyond this historic metropolis and discover a crucible of cultures and unblemished nature.

The Montenegrin coast, on the other hand, is literally replete with some of the most impressive seaside landscapes in Europe. The mountains protrude from the crystal clear waters, the ancient walled cities cling to the rocks and fall into the water. In summer, everything is full of the aroma of wild herbs, conifers and Mediterranean flowers. All of this — and much, much more — is in a tiny area.

  • Montenegrin Riviera
  • 2 ancient fortresses
  • The capital of Serbia
  • Tara Park observation decks
  • 3 medieval cities
  • The bridge over the canyon
  • 4 National Parks
  • The largest lake in the Balkans
  • Budva beaches
  • Mountain mausoleum

Program

Day 1. arrivals

You will be picked up at the airport in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, followed by a transfer and check-in at the hotel.

Built at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers, Belgrade is rightly called the Gateway to the Balkans and the Door to Central Europe. Its numerous monuments, which have become symbols of the city, testify to the rich history of Serbia and the Serbian capital.

Day 2. The City That Never Sleeps

We check out of the hotel and spend most of the day exploring Belgrade, and we will be able to visit the upper city with its gates to despots.

We will walk along the Zemun embankment to Gardosh, where the remnant of the Zemun fortress is located - a beautiful tower. We will walk along King Milan Street and Slavia Square to the magnificent St. Sava Church in the city

center.

Belgrade Fortress
While admiring the stunning view of the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers, being on the walls of the fortress, we will imagine how military leaders in the old days prepared for battle by standing on this very site.

While walking through Kalemegdan, you can immerse yourself in the past by visiting numerous sights.

Lunch time: we will take a walk through Belgrade's bohemian quarter - Skadarlija and enjoy national cuisine in one of the traditional taverns.

Can't wait to see nature? After lunch, we will make a 3-hour drive to the Southwest to Tara National Park, where we will spend the

night.
Day 3. National Park

In Western Serbia, bounded by the deep canyon of the Drina River, lies a mountain of incredible beauty — Tara.

The vast expanses of forest, an impressive canyon, picturesque lakes and a variety of flora and fauna make Tara's landscapes unforgettable.

We check out from the hotel and start our trip to the National Park, which will overwhelm you with green coniferous forests. They cover most of the mountain's surface, making it one of the most wooded mountains not only in Serbia but also in Europe. Observation platforms We will climb the Banja Rock — from here you can see the emerald green area of Lake Peručac and the powerful Drina River canyon. Oslusha will give us a completely different panorama: colorful paragliders take off from this observation deck

.

Tara, like other national parks in Serbia, is a real treasure of cultural and historical heritage.

In the evening, we settle in a Montenegrin town for 2.5 hours, including crossing the border.

Day 4. Canyon & National Park

We check out of the hotel in the morning, then 1 hour's drive, and we're already looking for that photographic bridge over the canyon.

Tara

Canyon The Tara
River Canyon originates in the north of the country and is 156 km long.

It merges with the Piva River and together they form the Drina River, one of the longest and most abundant rivers in the Balkans.

It is the second deepest canyon in the world, right after the Colorado River Canyon. The deepest part of the canyon is 1300 meters deep. The shores are steep, covered with forest due to the cold

and the depth of the canyon.

Durmitor National Park

The main feature of the park's terrain is a wide plateau located at an altitude of 1,500 meters above sea level, cut by deep canyon valleys with impressive mountain peaks. Glacier lakes, called mountain eyes, located 1,500 meters above sea level, will be particularly impressive.

The Durmitor Ring - Durmitor Prsten panoramic road is one of the most impressive routes in the region. You will discover the unique, wild landscape and breathtaking nature of Durmitor National Park and Piva Natural Park in northern

Montenegro.

We will have lunch in nature, and within 1.5 hours we will move to the South and check into a hotel in the center of Montenegro.

Day 5. Monastery And Lake

We check out from the hotel in the morning, 40 minutes of transfer - and we are in the famous Ostrog monastery.

We will spend about an hour in the Monastery, including climbing stone steps from the parking lot.

Vacation on the lake
It's time to head south towards the sea, but on the way we'll stop at the lake, where we'll be in 45 minutes. Lake Skadar is the largest freshwater lake on the Balkan Peninsula and one of the largest national parks in Montenegro. Two-thirds of Lake Skadar is in Montenegro and the rest is in Albania.

We'll take a 2.5-hour boat ride on the lake (you can swim), and then we'll have lunch on the lake shore.

In 1 hour we'll be in Budva, on the Montenegrin Riviera, and check into a hotel (for 4 nights) within walking distance to the beaches.

Day 6. The heart of Montenegro

We are going on a full-day trip, starting with a trip to the mountains, to the Mountain National Park, where we will be in just 1 hour's drive.

Symbol of Montenegro
In the National Park, we will visit the mausoleum of the Montenegrin ruler and poet Peter II Petrovic Njegos. This is an impressive building with 461 steps (which we'll climb) leading from the parking lot to the mausoleum itself. Montenegrins consider the entire area of this mountain to be sacred. The mausoleum is located at an altitude of 1,660 meters and is officially the tallest mausoleum

in the world.

Next to the mausoleum, we will visit the ancestral village of Njegoš, where we can buy local prosciutto (smoked ham) and Negush cheese.

In addition to the beauty and the surrounding nature (we will pass through beech, oak and linden forests), you will be delighted with the translucent mountain air that you can literally drink.

In addition, we will visit an amazing cave and have lunch next to it, and in the evening we will return to Budva.

Day 7. The Southernmost Fjord On The Planet

We are going on a trip around Kotor Bay.

An island in the Bay
One hour's drive - and we're in Kotor Bay, we'll visit one of the two gorgeous islands in the Bay of Kotor, which are located opposite a lovely coastal town. In the same town, we'll walk to the bell tower and have a coffee, then drive to Kotor

(20 minutes away).

The Old Town
is the most famous part of Kotor, where the history, culture and traditions of the city are preserved. The old town is rich in monuments of medieval architecture: churches, cathedrals, palaces and museums. Its beauty is complemented by its many narrow streets, squares and markets. The old town of Kotor also stands out for its many stylishly decorated gates, palaces for wealthy families and stairs. Kotor is today considered to be the best-preserved medieval urban settlement in the Mediterranean.

We'll have lunch and come back to Budva early so you can get to the beach today.

Day 8. Beach Day

Beach vacation
Do you want to swim on one of the best beaches in the Adriatic? You have all day specially for this purpose.

Day 9. Flight Back

Today, you will be taken to the airport for your return flight by group transfer.

Those interested can continue their beach vacation in the Budva Riviera.

I really enjoyed the tour “Balkan Express: The Way Through Serbia to the Beauties of Montenegro!”. This tour has, as they say, for both body and soul. There are educational tours about the history and architecture of the two Balkan countries, amazing gastronomy, beautiful landscapes and, of course, a beach vacation! People there are friendly, partly due to the fact that the countries are touristy, but, nevertheless, they have never felt negative about themselves.
Many thanks to Maxim and Regina for organizing a wonderful tour! Everything went to the top five: accommodation, trips, communication between band members. Memos were sent in advance about what was necessary for the trip: clothes, money, etc., so there were no surprises during the trip. I don't speak other languages, but I've never felt any discomfort because Regina translated and explained everything tactfully and in a timely manner. The guys even solved some personal problems of the tour participants, such as: paying for luggage, traveling to another place outside the tour program, etc.
I heartily recommend this tour!
I would like to express my deep gratitude to Maxim and Regina for an amazing trip! Everything was organized at the highest level, everything was thought out to the smallest detail. I would like to note their professionalism and attention to each participant.
The tour program covers all the best places in Serbia and Montenegro!
An excellent trip to all key places in Serbia and Montenegro, lots of picturesque places: forests, mountains, lakes, Montenegrin towns, all this is worth seeing with your own eyes. I would like to note the organization of the tour, specifically, the density and intensity of the adventure and the strict adherence to the plan, even in case of force majeure. The activity of the tour is average: the crossings in the parks are relatively small and then you can relax in a comfortable bus to the next point on the route. Thanks to Maxim and Regina for the company and the good organization of the trip.
Thanks a lot to Maxim and Regina for a great time. Great tour, everything is thought out to the smallest detail! Well-chosen hotels. Very beautiful locations. Lots of positive emotions. It's a great organization. I am planning more trips with these organizers. Keep it up! Well done!
Montenegro is incredibly beautiful and we saw it from all sides: we climbed high into the mountains, sailed by boat on the huge Skadar Lake, walked through the wonderful Durmitor National Park with absolutely extraordinary views and generally enjoyed amazing nature.
But there are two drawbacks:
1. the program is not designed for wild heat (and from August 10 to August 17 it was extremely hot - 40 degrees) and, of course, climbing 400 steps under the scorching sun to the mausoleum to the top of the mountain is an adventure only for very trained people. It's the same in Belgrade on day one - walking around the fortress in direct sunlight is a challenge.
2. The program includes many climbs: up slippery steps to the monastery, over rocks, roots, steeply up into the mountains. And it's not two steps to go through; it really takes a long time. So this requires training and endurance: that is, those band members who were experienced hikers, or simply did not have any physical difficulties, and it was hard for me.
Everything else was great: both guides, Regina and Maxim, were kind and attentive, everything was organized very clearly. All transfers took place in a super comfortable minibus. The nicest guide Marco was in Belgrade, who talked a lot about his family and Serbian national traditions. So thanks for the interesting and interesting tour! And if it took place in May or September (that is, there would be no wild heat), it would be a pleasure!
Enjoyed the tour a lot. Everything was very sincere and without too much tediousness. I recommend it to anyone interested in natural beauty and a little bit of history. Thanks a lot to Maxim
I have recently returned from the “BALKAN Express” tour and want to share my impressions. It was an unforgettable journey filled with a variety of experiences and discoveries. The tour was organized at the highest level: from comfortable accommodation to a well-thought-out itinerary. I especially liked the Tara and Durmitor national parks, as well as the picturesque canyons of the Tara River. I recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more about the Balkans!
This tour of Serbia and Montenegro exceeded all my expectations.
Serbia was a real discovery, and Montenegro was certainly the pearl of the Adriatic Sea. Its mountains, lakes and coastline offer stunning views that are impossible to forget. The journey has become a real adventure full of amazing discoveries and experiences. The route was well thought out, allowing us to enjoy all the diversity and beauty of these two countries.
I recommend this tour to anyone who wants to immerse themselves in the unique culture and nature of Serbia and Montenegro. Thanks for an unforgettable experience!
