11 counties and communities in 2 countries/9 days/7 cities/4 National parks/2 UNESCO heritage sites
Our group tour consists of 2 parts: such an unexpected Serbia with its capital and national park, and beautiful Montenegro with its mountains, lakes and the Adriatic Riviera.
Varied, welcoming and very fun - you've never heard that about Serbia, right? Best of all, this landlocked country in the heart of the Balkans is still far away from tourist routes. While the daring Serbian spirit is embodied in Belgrade's world-class nightlife, we'll look beyond this historic metropolis and discover a crucible of cultures and unblemished nature.
The Montenegrin coast, on the other hand, is literally replete with some of the most impressive seaside landscapes in Europe. The mountains protrude from the crystal clear waters, the ancient walled cities cling to the rocks and fall into the water. In summer, everything is full of the aroma of wild herbs, conifers and Mediterranean flowers. All of this — and much, much more — is in a tiny area.
You will be picked up at the airport in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, followed by a transfer and check-in at the hotel.
Built at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers, Belgrade is rightly called the Gateway to the Balkans and the Door to Central Europe. Its numerous monuments, which have become symbols of the city, testify to the rich history of Serbia and the Serbian capital.
We check out of the hotel and spend most of the day exploring Belgrade, and we will be able to visit the upper city with its gates to despots.
We will walk along the Zemun embankment to Gardosh, where the remnant of the Zemun fortress is located - a beautiful tower. We will walk along King Milan Street and Slavia Square to the magnificent St. Sava Church in the city
center.Belgrade Fortress
While admiring the stunning view of the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers, being on the walls of the fortress, we will imagine how military leaders in the old days prepared for battle by standing on this very site.
Lunch time: we will take a walk through Belgrade's bohemian quarter - Skadarlija and enjoy national cuisine in one of the traditional taverns.
Can't wait to see nature? After lunch, we will make a 3-hour drive to the Southwest to Tara National Park, where we will spend the
night. In Western Serbia, bounded by the deep canyon of the Drina River, lies a mountain of incredible beauty — Tara.
The vast expanses of forest, an impressive canyon, picturesque lakes and a variety of flora and fauna make Tara's landscapes unforgettable. We check out from the hotel and start our trip to the National Park, which will overwhelm you with green coniferous forests. They cover most of the mountain's surface, making it one of the most wooded mountains not only in Serbia but also in Europe. Observation platforms We will climb the Banja Rock — from here you can see the emerald green area of Lake Peručac and the powerful Drina River canyon. Oslusha will give us a completely different panorama: colorful paragliders take off from this observation deck
.Tara, like other national parks in Serbia, is a real treasure of cultural and historical heritage.
In the evening, we settle in a Montenegrin town for 2.5 hours, including crossing the border.
We check out of the hotel in the morning, then 1 hour's drive, and we're already looking for that photographic bridge over the canyon.
TaraCanyon The Tara
River Canyon originates in the north of the country and is 156 km long.
It is the second deepest canyon in the world, right after the Colorado River Canyon. The deepest part of the canyon is 1300 meters deep. The shores are steep, covered with forest due to the cold
and the depth of the canyon.Durmitor National Park
The main feature of the park's terrain is a wide plateau located at an altitude of 1,500 meters above sea level, cut by deep canyon valleys with impressive mountain peaks. Glacier lakes, called mountain eyes, located 1,500 meters above sea level, will be particularly impressive.
The Durmitor Ring - Durmitor Prsten panoramic road is one of the most impressive routes in the region. You will discover the unique, wild landscape and breathtaking nature of Durmitor National Park and Piva Natural Park in northern
Montenegro. We will have lunch in nature, and within 1.5 hours we will move to the South and check into a hotel in the center of Montenegro.
We check out from the hotel in the morning, 40 minutes of transfer - and we are in the famous Ostrog monastery.
We will spend about an hour in the Monastery, including climbing stone steps from the parking lot.
Vacation on the lake
It's time to head south towards the sea, but on the way we'll stop at the lake, where we'll be in 45 minutes. Lake Skadar is the largest freshwater lake on the Balkan Peninsula and one of the largest national parks in Montenegro. Two-thirds of Lake Skadar is in Montenegro and the rest is in Albania.
We'll take a 2.5-hour boat ride on the lake (you can swim), and then we'll have lunch on the lake shore.
In 1 hour we'll be in Budva, on the Montenegrin Riviera, and check into a hotel (for 4 nights) within walking distance to the beaches.
We are going on a full-day trip, starting with a trip to the mountains, to the Mountain National Park, where we will be in just 1 hour's drive.
Symbol of Montenegro
In the National Park, we will visit the mausoleum of the Montenegrin ruler and poet Peter II Petrovic Njegos. This is an impressive building with 461 steps (which we'll climb) leading from the parking lot to the mausoleum itself. Montenegrins consider the entire area of this mountain to be sacred. The mausoleum is located at an altitude of 1,660 meters and is officially the tallest mausoleum
Next to the mausoleum, we will visit the ancestral village of Njegoš, where we can buy local prosciutto (smoked ham) and Negush cheese.
In addition to the beauty and the surrounding nature (we will pass through beech, oak and linden forests), you will be delighted with the translucent mountain air that you can literally drink.
In addition, we will visit an amazing cave and have lunch next to it, and in the evening we will return to Budva.
We are going on a trip around Kotor Bay.
An island in the Bay
One hour's drive - and we're in Kotor Bay, we'll visit one of the two gorgeous islands in the Bay of Kotor, which are located opposite a lovely coastal town. In the same town, we'll walk to the bell tower and have a coffee, then drive to Kotor
The Old Town
is the most famous part of Kotor, where the history, culture and traditions of the city are preserved. The old town is rich in monuments of medieval architecture: churches, cathedrals, palaces and museums. Its beauty is complemented by its many narrow streets, squares and markets. The old town of Kotor also stands out for its many stylishly decorated gates, palaces for wealthy families and stairs. Kotor is today considered to be the best-preserved medieval urban settlement in the Mediterranean.
We'll have lunch and come back to Budva early so you can get to the beach today.
