About the tour: Due to the current situation in the country, there were big doubts that we would be able to fly to Armenia, so the tour to Lake Sevan was the last to be booked.r>We enjoyed the tour a lot. Many thanks to Ripsime for promptly responding to all our questions/suggestions.
Our guide, Shahen, captured our imagination. After that, it is simply impossible not to fall in love (with Armenia).
We visited Lake Sevan. There is also an ancient monastery there. On the way to the monastery, Shahen stopped at khachkars (khach — cross, kar-stone) and explained in detail what the images meant.
The monasteries in Armenia are quite ascetic both inside and outside. This is done specifically so that a person is not distracted when praying.
Then we rode on a small boat on Lake Sevan for about 20 minutes. It can accommodate up to 15 people. The three of us skated.
It was so good that we had a private tour. We quietly wandered around the market and chose knick-knacks.
Then we went to Dilijan. According to legend, Dili's mother was looking for Dili's missing son and shouted Dili jan (close and dear).
We reached the deer sanctuary via a picturesque forest road. They fed the deer branches and moved towards Lake Parz. It is much smaller and not as clean as Sevan, but it also has its own charm. For about an hour, we pedaled a water catamaran and enjoyed the coastal cliffs.
The day passed quickly and unnoticed.
We all work for money, but in Shahen's case, one feels a lot of love and respect for his country. Thank you very much for the tour. Read more
